Max is an entrepreneur by day, engineer and finance buff by night. At Pantas, Max focuses on understanding and solving our users' pain points by working on product development and keeping Pantas on track.
In January 2017, Max founded Pyxis, an alternative data analytics startup based in New York City (NYC), leveraging one of the world's widest arrays of consumer data sets. Max led and executed the analytics across hundreds of product segments and thousands of merchants informing PE/VC due diligence, corporate strategies, and product development initiatives. Pyxis was acquired by Bain & Company in December 2019, and Max stayed on to run Pyxis within Bain before founding Pantas.
Prior to Pyxis, Max was a portfolio manager at Fore Research & Management, an NYC-based hedge fund, focusing on fixed income and special situation investments. Max started his career at HSBC Securities in NYC as an investment banker in the leveraged finance group.
Born in a small town in Perlis, Max spent his formative years in the suburb of Alor Setar, Malaysia, before heading to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, to pursue an engineering and economics degree. Max is an avid traveller, chef, foodie and runner. When he is not busy with Pantas, hosting friends for dinner, or out running, you can find him venturing around the world for delicious food.
